Associate Manager, Sales: Europe – Life Science
Job Summary:
The Associate Manager, Sales will have sales leadership for the Sterilization and Disinfection Control product sales into the Life Science market in Europe for Mesa Labs. The Associate Manager, Sales is responsible for accelerating sales growth and driving market share gains through the sales team by installing vision, process and purpose while providing strong leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring high energy and professional experience with a scientific distinction and knowledge of customer personas found in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing and development industries. This position is responsible for achieving market share growth, revenue, pricing, customer satisfaction and operating costs targets in the region. They will manage of team of 6-12 people with roles spanning technical account management, technical business development, technical sales support, inside sales and customer service.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Deploy rigorous daily management of commercial processes against growth initiatives to maximize results, while advancing the effective use of best practices, and productivity of all team members.
- Develop and optimize the team. This leader is responsible for identifying and prioritizing talent and capability improvements to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and market share growth.
- Experienced in and eager to conduct experiments to explore modifications with go-to-market approach to accelerate growth and customer intimacy.
- This leader ensures proper cross-functional engagement in critical customer issues and large opportunities. Ability to manage the sales team’s performance and effectiveness during integration of additional business or product lines.
- Active/Lead role in SDC’s commercial strategy. This leader is expected execute on corporate strategy, pricing strategy, target setting, onboarding and skill development of team members or commercial partners. This leader should bring perspectives of the voice of customer and market insight on training curriculum, lead generating ideas and activities, technical and customer support, product portfolio positioning and product portfolio improvement.
- Ability to remotely manage the team and to meet or exceed bookings and revenue targets, pricing realization all within the required operating expense budget.
- Monitor and measure customer service metrics and utilize to develop standards, improvements, or changes to process. Propose recommendations regarding changes to products or services based on customer feedback and requests along with teaching technical product/process expertise, engaging and responding to customers.
- Lead and contribute to improvements, modifications, and changes with the CRM, ERP, standard work and procedures as it relates to the customer service and sales management.
- Operational Excellence
- Establish Standard Work: Define standard work procedures for Product Management, R&D, Lab Testing/Contract Services Functions to ensure consistency and efficiency, aligning with best practices within the healthcare industry.
- Lean 5S: Model personal Lean Philosophy 5S behaviors in creating a continuously improving, clean, well-organized and self-maintaining work environment. Work closely with team members and others to motivate and improve 5S knowledge and implementation.
- SQDCM: Follow a continuous improvement approach for team accountability for achieving high performance SQDCM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, & Morale) targets through a visual work environment, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Complies with company ethics, code of conduct, policies, and best practices, with a commitment to safety in the workplace, valuing of diversity, and promotion of a harassment-free environment.

Education/Experience:

Education and/or Experience:
- Three or more years’ experience with sales or management of key or large accounts in life sciences or healthcare industry along with 1 - 2 years of team leadership or project management experience.
- Previous medical device or regulated industry experience preferred
- Strong history of collaboration with the commercial teams
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Science Degree preferable
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience

- Sales management experience with proven track record of growth.
- Experience driving discipline and commercial process execution using CRM data.
- History of collaboration with cross functional teams to drive overall business success.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adaptable and experienced with change management.

- Analytical acumen that allows visibility metrics, behaviors, patterns, and trends to see problems before they impact results.
- Advanced professional verbal and written communication skills,

- Self-motivated, curious mind that pushes their knowledge boundaries and is driven to learn difficult topics on their own.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experienced in and able to teach and present product information.
- Excellent communication skills that can be adapted for multiple countries and cultures
- Excellent time management skills/ ability to multi-task the activities with shifting priorities.
- Competitive, ambitious, and driven, with a self-starter and positive attitude
Travel & Location Requirements:
Travel will be both domestic and international, focusing on visiting customers, sales team meetings, attending industry conferences, and meeting with key stakeholders. Travel 25-35% of time.
